Game 6 @ Clyde Valley Blackhawks
Senators consolidate top spot.
Gateshead Senators 41 - 12 Dundee Hurricanes.
The Senators extended their lead at the top of the National League North Conference with a comprehensive victory over the hand working Dundee Hurricannes.
The home side took an early lead on the opening possesion ,the Senators looking a little sluggish coming off the bus after the long journey north of the border.
The lead was short lived as RB Evander Harewood scored and brought the Senators back into the game on the next drive. Gavin Barr then took the lead role at RB scoring himself soon after as Gateshead moved ahead 13 - 6.
The next drive saw QB Lee Fraser find WR Darren Mould with a 35 Yard TD pass as the Gateshead Offense started to find their momentum.
Dundee managed a score of their own before the Senators scored again through a Lee Fraser TD run from 8 yards. Halftime saw the visitors ahead with a 29 - 12 scoreline.
The Senators Defense stepped up a gear in the second half registering 4 Interceptions, CB Ben Forster with a brace and LB Russell Corker almost returning one for a TD with Kris Barr getting in on the act the as the 'D' shut out the home side.
John Harrison added a 6 yard TD run and the Senators had 2 Barr TD's called back as the visitors rotated their squad to give vital gametime to their backups and rookies.
There was no further scoring in the 4th Quarter the final score 41-12 to the visitors.
With second placed local rivals DC Presidents losing at Clyde Valley it saw Gateshead stretch their lead in the North as they remained unbeaten.
Senators have one final road trip away to an improving Clyde Valley Blackhawks on the 30th June before they enter a 4 game home stretch until end of the regualr season.

Junior Rookie Training Sessions announced:
Gateshead Senators in association with Sportivate are pleased to announce Rookie training sessions for Junior players in the 14 to 18 age group interested in playing American Football. No previous experience is necessary and all equipment will be provided. The sessions will give an introduction to the sport the next sessions will take place on the following dates:-
Sunday 23rd June at Monkton Stadium 1030-1200
Wednesday 26th June at Gateshead Stadium 20:00- 21:00

Senators appear on Sky TV
Gateshead Senators appeared on Sky TV in the run up to the 2013 season. With the cold weather front cancelling sporting events over the winter period the Senators have taken extra steps to ensure training could go ahead. Sky TV were present at our Rookie day on the 6th Jan and at our first indoor session of 2013. We are still looking for new members to join the organisation .
The Senators are looking for players aged 14 plus for our Youth,Junior and Senior teams.
